We recently held a First Aid Level 1 training session, bringing together SME owners and business representatives for a day of practical learning.

The training formed part of our ongoing commitment to supporting the growth and resilience of small businesses. While business development often focuses on areas such as strategy, finance and market access, creating a safe workplace is equally important. First aid knowledge equips business owners and their teams to respond confidently in emergency situations, helping to protect employees, customers and visitors.

Throughout the session, participants received practical, hands on instruction covering essential first aid principles and emergency response techniques. Participants who successfully completed the training received a First Aid Level 1 certificate, equipping them with skills that can contribute to safer workplaces and greater business preparedness.

Beyond the training itself, the session provided an opportunity for SME owners to connect, share experiences and strengthen relationships with one another. These engagements are an important part of the Enterprise and Supplier Development journey, encouraging collaboration and the exchange of knowledge between businesses.

Practical training opportunities such as these form an important part of the support we provide to SMEs. By combining business development with practical skills development, we aim to help businesses build resilience and create stronger foundations for long term growth.

Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to making the session a success. We are looking forward to continuing to create opportunities that support the growth and sustainability of South African SMEs.
